Here you go. This is from a ‘21 with the B&O (not unleashed)
Haven't seen that. I've searched the usual suspects and can't find a match.
Options:
- do a tap or military splice on the OEM wires and you can save the OEM speaker
- drill out the rivet, de-solder the tabs and make an ugly plug for your new speaker (insulate well) (I do this on the tweeters). Buy an OEM center speaker replacement should you need it.
Probably told you stuff you already knew but...I'd do option 1. Sorry to not be of help.
Actually, the plug on the 72-5600 is oriented in the wrong direction. But this is actually a good thing! Simply snip off the tabs and the harness can now be used in the correct orientation, which also takes care of the problem with the pin direction. Plus the version I got from Best Buy had the correct polarities! All hooked up and working. The interesting thing about this Dayton speaker (10 watts RMS) is that it significantly balances the sound. The factory speaker seems to take over and is the only speaker you hear. But with this Dayton speaker I can now hear my tweeters and my door speakers.
I just did the above center speaker with the metra adapter. just removed the tangs on the adapter and rotated it to match the pins.
i honestly don't notice much difference in the sound from stock. I actually took everything apart and made sure no connections came loose. it is working, but unimpressive to say the least.
maybe it will make phone calls sound better. 🤷🏻♂️
edit: maybe this is what I am experiencing?? "The interesting thing about this Dayton speaker (10 watts RMS) is that it significantly balances the sound. i am also replacing the door speakers with JL units. the passenger rear was blown, so I figured I would upgrade
In addition to the Dayton Audio Point Source center channel (3") speaker (which really toned it down), I also replaced all the door speakers with the https://www.parts-express.com/Dayton...-4-Ohm-295-348 (6.5"). Did not replace tweeters as I can not hear anything above 10,000 Hz. The sound is much more subdued at low volume but really comes alive at higher volumes. No breakup, fuzzyness, booming, rattling or other artifacts, just clear sound. The 99 dB sensitivity appears to be the ticket. I also put two layers of butyl deadening in the doors and one layer on the sub so maybe that factored into things as well.
Sorry to revive an old thread but I'm about to replace my factory B&O speakers with JL Audio C2-690tx & C2-650x. My installer says that the factory B&O speakers in the doors are 2 ohm and that the JLs won't work without an amp.
I see above that people said the doors are 4 ohm so should just be plug and play.
Can someone confirm before I get sucked into buying an amp and using high level inputs (which I hate)
I'm sure back when I decided to replace mine I looked into that, I have not had any issues. my truck is a 2021, if you have a newer model you should pull a door panel off to verify
Thanks. I should have mentioned that it's a 2020 F450. I would think both 2020 and 2021 are the same B&O system so fingers crossed we'll have the same experience.
If it helps anyone else. I just installed new speakers in my truck.
2020 F450 Lariat w/ B&O sound system
confirmed OEM speakers are 4 ohm.
I had a blown driver side rear speaker and that's what prompted the new speakers.
New front speakers: JL Audio C2-690tx
New rear speakers: JL Audio C2-650x
Everything is right in the world again. I typically listen to music between volume 10-14. They aren't necessarily louder at the same volume levels but they are much much clearer.
My 2019 audio system is ok except the passenger side door speaker is blown. How difficult is it to replace the door speaker? Tools required? I have installed Crutchfield systems into almost every vehicle I’ve ever owned but this truck seems a little more complicated lol. Great thread here 👍

How do you like the JL Audio C2 Speakers? Do the front door speakers have as good or better lows as the factory? Did the sound quality suffer at all. I am looking to replace the speakers on my 19 F250 with B&O and don't like the super crisp highs that usually come from aftermarket speakers. I really like the warmer sound of the factory speakers just want them to be louder and not blown.
So I just did 3 JL Audio 10TW3s in my 2023 F350. I have the B&O Unleashed. This is the sub. It measures roughly 7x12 and it has a vent through the back of the cab lol.
