Some background:
CEL came on back in April (P20BA) - ordered a replacement Bosch heater but don't have it installed yet, assumed with the warm weather I'd be ok
Turned on the DPF % screen using Forscan 7/9, watched the percentage climb until it read full over a few weeks.
Cleaning message now comes on every time I drive.
Tried doing a static regen on 7/25 using Forscan - it failed to complete in the allotted time
Today I get the "drive to clean" message
Any thoughts here? What do I need to do to get the DPF to regen successfully?
I'm using Forscan to look at the codes, only ones listed were the P20BA on the PCM and OBDII, is there somewhere else to check? I will look again tonight
Truck has ~78K, can't say I've looked closely at the pipes. I'll try to get some egt numbers tonight
Need to take it on a good long drive and get it all up to temp for a good half hour to an hour. You need heat and flow so get on the freeway for an hour and drop it down a gear or 2 for more heat and exhaust flow. That's what it takes.
Only issues I've had with the DPF system is when the heater went out with a nuisance alarm/code and when they stole my exhaust out from under my truck, don't ask or I will go into my tyrade on scum sucking bottom feeders.
I don't normally monitor at all. Haven't had any issues, just wanted to turn the % screen on to be able to monitor. Now that screen just reads full and doesn't change during regen. I will try to take a long drive but thus far that hasn't helped, even with locking out 5th or 6th gear.
If there's no other ideas my next move was to take it in to a dealer at this point...
An update:
I still have not gotten the percentage to drop. My status screen has change from "Full" to "Overloaded" also have the "overloaded drive to clean" message, the truck tries to regen every time I drive so mileage is around 12mpg
I am now also getting messages calling for an oil change and coolant check due - both much earlier than expected truck has ~79K on it, I changed the oil at ~77K and checked coolant at ~67K
