That is absurd marking up an XL. Some people prefer an XL, but I think most purchase are because their concerned about budget. Trying to gouge that end of the market is even worse in my opinion. It may cost someone a vehicle they really need. I spoke with the largest Chevy dealer in the U.S., Classic Chevrolet in Grapevine, TX. Family owned store and the owner laid down the law. Nothing over MSRP and no exceptions. Afraid it would hurt their reputation and knows these conditions won't last. It's like making bank on disaster relief. I'll remember the dealerships that acted with integrity.

Makes you wonder...they're adjusting up for a supposed short supply, but no one is buying them at that.

There making about $4K at MSRP, plus $5K mark up, plus holdback of 3.5% is another $2K, so $11K total if they sell it. That's about 5 trucks worth of profit in normal times. How long does it usually take to sell 5 XL's at that dealership. Who knows?

They have a couple Lariat Gucci trucks that have been sitting there too if that is more your style

MSRP on the Blue one is $77,800 and the Black one is $76k. Looks like the dealer added a 4" lift, fender flares, wheels & tires, and are only charging you $32,000 for it

I have a quote to order a 22 Lariat Value Package with Black Appearance Package at invoice. I still have a lift, road armor bumper, and wheels i was going to put on my old truck but I traded it in on something else (at way more than I paid for it).

Going to see if I can get a PCO this week and ask salesman to apply that and any incentives available at delivery. Waiting to firm up a contract at work before pulling the trigger, will know this weekend.

He said I can’t get adaptive steering unless I want to wait a very long time. That was the only problem I ran into.

What's your strategy on the PCO? Mine expired and I emailed Ford but so far no response. Dealer took my X-Plan so pretty happy with that.

I'm noting the local dealers that are adding $$ to the sticker of these trucks and will make sure I don't ever buy anything from them. One local dealer is adding $5,000.

Don’t forget floor plan assistance and advertising assistance. Plus any other sales incentives they might hit monthly/quarterly.

DFW Datapoint

Grapevine Ford in the DFW area wanted a $10K kicker to any SuperDuty. Purchased from Sam Pack 5-Star in Carrollton for $1k under Sticker.

Maybe they have lift kits and wheels and tires, but there's no mention and no pictures.

Here's a $76,300 MSRP 2021 CCSB Lariat with 6.7L, asking price $100,244

A dealer in Janesville, WI had an F350, 7.3 in transit. Was selling at MSRP while in transit and told me they would add the $5K when it hit their lot - and they did just that. They have a couple of Lariats F250's, with the $5K added on.

On a side note, just had my Black 2019 XLT, 6.7 detailed. When getting it back, it was like picking up a new truck - LOL. Much cheaper than paying the market adjustment and being underwater 6 months from now

It would be interesting to see if they are actually getting people to purchase with the adjustment. I would walk on that deal all day long.

Side note: Black sure is a pretty color...when it's clean, which is generally never around here.

Maybe there's a need for a "dealerships wjich promoted market adjustments" tracking spreadsheet, for when this has all passed...
