Awesome thank you everyone for all the assistance.

Couple more questions on the 5.0 it has this

On the 5.8 it has

Since they are both 3 wire can I repin them or do I need a different egr since the threads are much larger on the 5.8 or can i just delete it and plug the hole in the exhaust manifold

Last one on the 5.0 engine harness it has these attached to the coil bracket

Will these still be needed or can delete them no clue as to there function if I need can I just tap into any vacuum line or do they need a specific home

Thank you again

Depends.
The 5.0 EGR mounts to lower intake(I think). The 5.8 EGR mounts to passenger side front exhuast.
The two vacuum solenoids are TAD and TAB, air injection system, Thermactor Air Diverter and Thermactor Air Bypass.

With your 61mm TB, your going to need an EFI tuner. So, if your deleting air pump, you disable the air system in the tune.
Same with EGR, if your deleting EGR, you need to disable EGR in the tune.

If your keeping EGR (recommended), you will need the correct part and connectors, or a schematic for both, and repin.

The 5.0 was connected to the lower intake manifold and the 5.8 was connected to the front of the passenger exhaust manifold

Okay hopefully last round of questions was not able to use the egr so will get blocked off and the TAD and TAB were left electronically connected without vacuum lines as this 5.8 didn't have a smog pump just an idler. Also no knock sensor as there wasn't one on 5.8

Engine runs again a bit rough but ill get it sorted big issue now is the transmission I used the one that came from the 5.8 all connectors were the same aside from the neutral safety switch so I put the one from 5.0s tranny on. However, when i put the truck in drive it is literally starting in 3rd not 1st from a dead stop I can manually shift and everything is fine. Can I put the neutral safety switch connector from the 5.8 onto the 5.0 harness as they are both 8 blade and then use the NSS that came on 5.8s tranny? Its the only thing I changed so I'm guessing the shifting or lack of is from the different safety switches.

You used the transmission that was behind the 351W and not the 302 transmission? Are the they the same transmission? I’d expect an E4OD behind the 351 but what was behind the 302? If it was a 4R70W or AOD, then they did not use the same PCM.

I honestly do not know the difference in transmissions I know its not nearly as big as the one behind my 460. But I did figure it out and feel dumb I ran a code check and everything failed on the tranny so climbed under to check the shift solenoid and because the tabs were broke i placed the connector in backwards. It now shifts perfect and i only get 3 codes one for the canister and 2 for the egr. Gonna make a block off plate tomorrow and hopefully I get a smoother idle and i did see someone sold a egr bypass diode connector to make the computer think its there. Just would like to get it to run smoother now

curious since i left the original 5.8 egr on the engine would there be any issue just adding a working vacuum line to it since its mechanical and using a resistor plug to eliminate the electrical one to get rid of SEL

Also huge shout to everyone who helped I appreciate all of it and your patience this has been a nightmare of a project because I kept doing things wrong. Thank you everyone.
