Anyone have trouble with either of these outfits?
I am at a loss so far. I ordered an M1A2 bumper. It was delivered quickly. I installed it and found issues with parts. Bolts were not a great so I used some of the original hardware. Next I find parts do not fit correctly. I contacted Smittybuilt customer service 12 days ago. In contact with them almost every business day. I send photos and documentation. They see a problem but offer no remedy yet. If they cant fix it I want to return it. Tried calling 4WParts and always a 20 or 30 person wait. I am guessing lots of problems with that kind of backup at customer service multiple days.
Can you loosen the winch plate so you can raise it up to match the bolt holes. Snug that up first and then tighten the winch plate mounts. Hard to help diagnose these things over the internet with out being able to see everything. On a side note, I gave up on 4WP years ago. I suppose nothing is bent in the winch plate mounting brackets or the bumper mounting brackets. As it states "winch cradle can be removed with bumper installed", I think it's an adjustment issue in the winch plate. While they may have sent the wrong plate, it is not common and maybe it going to take a bit to wiggle/jiggle it to make it sit right. Hate to ask but did you follow the directions or look at it and say "this should be easy, I don't need these" and wing it.
Thanks but no wiggle room. Bolts run horizontal and vertical through the frame. Some adjustment possible but not that much. I think the front cover plate might be wrong.
4WP are the worst. I ordered a part, then cancelled it, but they sent it anyway. I refused the shipment, so it was sent back, and was signed for. They gave me the run around for months, telling me that the part was not returned, blah, blah, blah. I called my credit card company, and it was a big mess. I finally gave up, and just ate the $81.00. I will never do business with 4WP again, they suck!
Senix, Glad they were good for your light issue. I keep speaking with Smittybilt and they seem to be looking at it but 12 days with no solution. Not happy!
I didn't see it mentioned, and not sure if you knew, but Smittybilt is one of 4WP's house brands. Keep your expectations low with this company, and all will turn out well. I've had a few friends who work there, even some doing customer service, and I'd never buy from that place. I drive by their national office all the time, but I've stopped trying to buy from them years ago.
