Hey folks, so just started my project...I had this RHD Dodge cab for past 5 years with no chassis to put it on... finally found an interesting chassis to use, bought the LHD 1980 F600 4x4 rolling chassis a month ago without a cab as it was rusty as. Also bought me a Cummins 6bt 12v.
I just installed the cab this week. I made the cab brackets and to suit the original rubber mounts.
Ill post more pictures if anyone's interested in seeing the progress... A ton of work to go... all worth it in my opinion.
Engine will be installed in a week or so... really as soon as I make the mounts for it.
Any ideas, questions or criticism are all welcome.
Just made 4 of the cab mounts from 10mm and 5mm plate, will be installing these today... hopefully install the engine tomorrow then bring her home next week! its at a mates factory at the moment..
Built the fork Jib yesterday... then pulled the engine out to fit the gearbox, installed them both back in less in a few hours... so much space in these trucks, lovin it.
Hey guys... finally an update...
so, our Government got back to me with good news, that I can get it road registered... however, the engineer wants the old girl it back to stock, unmolested... good thing its a truck!
So, soon i'lll be starting the complete rebuild, back to stock as it was back in 81, and will also have a petrol engine (US = gas)... as it seems, its the only one here in Australia, so some parts will need to be made.
Anyway... lets see how this goes... once registered, may even just leave it all Ford... or maybe not.
Just sort of finished a resto of an 81 F350, now its registered and running as my daily.
Thanks for reading.

If anyone could help me or give me a answer on how this will work out for me or any information that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

All good mate, thats just business... how things roll,, ya know.
Huge pause on this job, my nissan forklift pack in... replaced with a toyota 2,5t now.
F350 needs a diesel heart transplant... drinks more than my Ex and fuel price is crazy here... (im using about AU$400 per week) and thats local driving...but so much fun.
Works been busy as, seems like we here have a welder shortage... where the hell have they all gone!
Dont laugh too hard, but bought a Isuzu FSS500 for the heart transpant... those 6BG1 engines are freakin awesome... trucks weighs 7t, drove it home, 200ks and only used 17 litres... so might be making a new thread on installing that in the F350... will be fun doing this on a public road haha.
And also, got bent over and shafted by the diesel mechanic who sold me the cummins... 1 piston was melted, but the head was fine... clearly someone knew what they was doing... man I cant stand liars and thief's.
Anyway... hopefully no more set backs or buying stuff.
