96 4.9 Timing Marks Location

Hey y'all,
I'm about to do the 6 liter tune-up (plugs, wires, ignition coil, distributor & rotor) on my 96 300 i6 with 200,000 miles. I have two questions: First, do y'all recommend advancing the timing? Part of this tune-up that others on this forum have praised is advancing the timing to 11-14 degrees BTDC. I have also read from others that insist the factory 10 degrees BTDC is the only way the engine should be run so I'm interested in opinions. Second, if advancing the timing is the way to go, I have scoured the area around my harmonic balancer searching for the correct timing marks and have found nothing. I found the marks on the timing gear which I've read are incorrect and shouldn't be used, but I have not been able to find the tab with notches in it for timing marks that is supposed to be on the passenger side of the timing cover. It doesn't help that I have a crankshaft position sensor right in that area as well. From what I've read, 96 4.9 owners seem to have problems finding their timing marks so I'm looking for some help. I've attached pictures of the area around my harmonic balancer with the fan shroud and the belt off. Any responses are appreciated. Thanks.

On the 96 4.9 there are 2 faint lines on the pulley, one at TDC and one at 10° BTDC.
