Hello, has anyone suffered from (or know some-one who has) a broken crankshaft? I have a 2002 model F250 with 7.3 powerstroke which at 45000kms broke the crank through the number 1 & 2 big end journal where the journal meets the webbing. In Australia, Ford say that they have never heard of this ever before. Seems suss.
Just got the truck back 2 days ago with a new short motor. Seems to smoke (blue) at idle now.
At the time of engine failure, dumped about 6liters (1.5 gallons) of coolant into the sump. Ford couldn't tell me where it came from? Perhaps a blown head gasket and the hydraulic lock damaged the crank?? Any ideas of feedback appreciated.
Regards,
Feathers
