I didn't either but that gives me an idea...... take a Dremel to an old pair of pliers and achieve the same goal.

I remember them from my father's garage in the 70's
I think I know where they are. I might need to go aquire them for when I get my drain valve.

nothing like a good set of tools. i really like this hazet set. the number of clips being shot across the shop has been greatly reduced lol

forgot to link the stahlbus I am using. I think it's a better product than the fumoto, which I've used before. no experience with the ez-drain.

I gotta admit... that's a well designed product. I like it. Especially with the screw on cap.

I agree, and I previously used the Fumoto on every vehicle I owned! They even make a "race cap" which you can safety wire (as I do on my race cars). The works well, just insert the drain and stick the hose in your drain pan. No mess (I realize the same thing can be accomplished with the Fumoto).

Another option to consider

Zero issues with the compact model on my 6.7. Just screw up the 90 degree hose attachment and point the other end into a 5 gallon bucket. No clips or ends that protrude. Clean design imo. Buy what you like - nice to have many options to choose from ( EZ, Fumoto, no spill, etc) .

I guess I don't see the advantage of these valves on the oil pan. I've done two oil changes and I get a little bit of oil on my hands but not much. And it drains quick. In fact I would say this truck is the easiest oil change than any vehicle I have ever owned.

It"s personal preference. I don't care about speed but I do care about flow control because I drain the oil into the gallon oil jugs from the previous oil change. Also I can pull a sample without making a mess. It takes a little bit longer but it doesn't bother me a bit.

Looks to be essentially the same concept as the Stahlbus except their standard and compact design is 36 bucks. The speed click design is $44 which looks pretty slick.

I’ve had my spring clamp pliers at least 40 years. They can’t be beat for these hose clamps. Here’s a more affordable alternative to the Matco set you found.

The tubing that came with my valve had three plastic fittings that snap onto the valve. One goes straight out, one goes 90°, and I can't remember what the other one does.

I've been using the straight one, but I'm going to start using the 90° fitting. This will allow me to trim the tubing so that it extends just an inch or two into the jugs that I empty the oil into. A tube that is too long just makes a mess when I pull it out of the jug.
