Hello, my 1962 F350 passenger side A Pillar and hinge were pretty badly rotted. I replaced the hinge and rebuilt the a-pillar so it's solid again. Some of the bolts holding the door on were also FUBAR. So I am in need of a few. Do any of my fellow enthusiasts have some door hinge bolts kicking around they could send me? Thanks!
Suggest verify. I believe the door hinge bolts are 5/16x24x9/16 and I suspect local hardware or auto parts should carry grade 5 or 8 bolts but if decide to go this route suggest take an original bolt with U, store have tread gauge to determine. I may have a few used door hinge bolts in questionable condition but I suspect the cost of shipping may not be the better option in checking w/ local sources. DC and other online part suppliers carry them anywhere from $.50 to $.75 cents each to include shipping for around $15 for a total of 8? Anyhow, food for thought?
Yeah I could certainly get generic fasteners to put in there but the stock bolts have a different he'd and a serrated washer. I was hoping to get the original bolts to make sure they hold the door in the way Ford intended. I don't mind paying a few bucks to get the real deal. Thanks!
Dennis Carpenter has them. https://www.dennis-carpenter.com/tru...-x24x-916-inch
I would also check out the Totally Stainless Catalog... you can download it from their website. p65 I am strongly considering going stainless on my '62. They also have black finished SS indented head bolts... p106.
