well i posted this before but accidently hit the inline 6 forum so here it is in the right place well anway i was at the junkyard and was talking to the guy that owns it "pretty small junkyard" i asked him if he had any 390's laying around and he said yeah and he said he also has a 428 in an old truck someone hopped up he said its been sittin there for 10 years so i took a look at it and made the dowl check to make sure it was a 428 and not a 360/390 and it is a 428, checked it a few times just to make sure, so i asked him what he wanted for it and he said come get it or it will be crushed when the crusher comes next week, so i said i would take it and he said he would even take the motor out for me "pays off to know the right people" So do you guys think i should build the 428 up and scrath building up the old 360 in my 1975 f150 2wd auto, i dont know much about 428's so i dont know if i found a good deal or pwople find 428's all over so any help would be great thanks
I think you'll be more than happy with that 428, however, save some money so you can by stock in Goodyear, cause you'll be go'in thru tires in a hurry. If you trip over anymore 428's, share the love

I wonder how many 427 and 428 blocks have been melted down and are now part of chevy and dodge blocks. Its kinda like finding dolphin in your tuna can.
i was wondering are 428's very rare or can u still find them all over, cuz i sure havnt seen one in a while my dad had a 428 in his 74 f250 4x4, he could put it in 4x4 low and burn all 4's off but that was in the early 80's, like a dumb a$$ he never thought the engine would be worth anything when it wore out so he drove the whole thing to the junkyard in 91, i still yell at him for that.
yeah where is this junkyard in iowa at? I was looking in the newspaper today and saw someone selling a 351c for $50. I need to get to work if people are going to be generous.
There's one up by Allison, which is northwest of Cedar Falls / Waterloo. Its off highway 14 on Butler Center Road up by big marsh. It's a little west of the intersection of Sinclair road and Butler Center road. It's called Rons Auto Salvage. He has lots of FE's up there for the taking. If you go up there tell him Kurt sent 'ya.
