What title says. I’ve tried rubber mallets, sledge hammers, penetrating fluid, even screwdriver prying. Yes I took that snap ring out. I’ve even tried removing it both with it locked to the axle and unlocked. Any advice is appreciated.
the rubber o ring swells/sticks to the groves. I would suggest a cheap bicycle inner tube, cut a 2in wide strip the circumfrance of your hub. A large pair of channel locks and a friend. One of you squeezing the clamp over rubber "band" over the hub. The other of you using a 2 x 4 or similar to leverage between the tire and the pliers to "push" the hub "straight out. Other would be a bearing splitter if you can get the taper between the hub flange and the brake caliper hub.. It does not rotate.. just need to work it. unfortunately some "lubricants" make the swelling worse!
If you had some compressed inert gas that would get the hub really cold, the seal should shrink and make removal easier...
