I went BAK Revolver because it plays well with a TracRac ladder rack. Chose the TracRac because I slide the crossmembers on only when I need the rack ... maybe 5 to 8 times per year. A retractable takes up too much bed space IMHO and the Peragon design is a joke.

100% concur. Had one. Hated it. Let it go on a trade in. They showed me an extra $200 for it. Hell, I would have given them $200 to take it away.
Worthless if you want to open it up with anything over a few inches high in the bed. As someone mentioned earlier, the rails were always coming out of adjustment, knocking it out of square and therefore pretty much impossible to open or close. Not to mention the leaking.

Oh yeah, the leaking. I knew the cover wasn't anywhere waterproof when I bought it. As far as rain protection it's like it's not even there because the water comes through the panels. They advertise security, and that part might be true.

I now have a soft tri-fold from Bestop. Been on there 6 years. For the money it keeps my stuff dry, it's light, goes on an off in a snap like most tri-folds do. It doesn't rattle. The security comes from "out of sight, out of mind" -- most parking lot pirates won't touch what they can't see.

After spending what I now consider stupid money on that Peragon, I went back to the old tried & true tri fold. The lower dollar Gator and TonnoPro have done the job just fine for me.

So… anyone on here use the Bakflip hard folding covers? These look to fit my bill the best and am hoping that the Ford branded hard folding cover is actually a Bakflip.

I was early enough into the ordering process to cancel the Peragon. The more I thought about the design the more you guys seemed to be right. To many panel seams that could leak and a complicated mechanism for opening and closing.

Back to square 1 for me. Leaning towards a Bak Flip but will not decide until next week.

Even a old dog can learn new tricks.

Mine is from Truck Covers USA https://www.truckcoversusa.com/american-roll-cover/
Have had it on the truck for four years. No problems with it. Still looks and works great. Sprayed some silicone spray in the channels last month as it wasn't rolling up smoothly. The spray fixed that problem.
Like the security of the hard roll up cover.

After a couple years of pondering which cover to get, it came down to a Diamondback or an American Roll Cover.

I love the Diamondback for the security, looks and 1200lb load capacity for 4-wheelers. However, I would have to remove it to haul a fifth wheel.

I installed the American Roll Cover and it has performed flawlessly. It rolls smoothly, takes up little space, looks good and is pretty water tight. It rains a lot here in FL and I rarely get more than a tablespoon of water in each rear corner caused by driven rain. It might get its first hurricane next week. I initially thought I was going to get the Roll top/toolbox combo, but I decided against it since there is an option to add the toolbox later.

american work cover jr

i have a american work cover jr mainly for the following reasons.
the truck has a b&w turnover ball, underneath a cargoglide 2200 with the cutout for the hitch.
the jr version allowed me to use the brakelight camera to see the hitch. the larger box obscures it.
i wanted a locking cover that was secure. this works well for me.
the only drawbacks of this are the following i have noticed.
you will give up space for the cannister under the cover, and the stake pockets are covered.. the full length of the bed is shortened by about 10 inches or so due to toolbox length. there is room underneath the cannister.

with the cargoglide, you lose bed height, the front section is about 6 or 7 inches under the cannister of the cover.
im happy with the ease of use of both and dont have to crawl in the bed for things.

i havent used the turnover hitch or cutout in the cargoglide, but wanted it incase my future needs changed.
ive only had this setup a little less than 2 years, and the work cover does benefit from a little lube on ocassion.
you can get a little space back on the side with the biltrite racks

and yes there are less expensive solutions.

I went with the soft roll up again on my 2020. Seems to work fine for me. I like the soft role ups because they take up the least room when rolled up. The hard roll ups seem to have a big box that takes up bed space and wouldn’t allow me to put a camper in the bed without removing it. I don’t like the fold up covers for the same reason. I don’t like the one piece hard covers as you need to plan ahead for lager items that won’t fit under them.

Really? I have no problem fitting any of my lager items in the bed regardless of which cover is used. But I, too must plan ahead when I want to fit a larger items in the bed with a one-piece hard cover.

I also like the soft roll-up covers. I use the bed a lot and am always carrying random stuff. It seems these are the least intrusive as they roll up small to give the most room in the bed while maintaining visibility out the back window. They also play nice with winter weather as I park outside.

I had an original Truxedo on my first truck and then a Lo Pro on the last. I'll probably do something similar on the 2022 when it gets here.

By larger things I mean atvs, snow blowers and things like washers and refrigerators.
