Where to source long bed tailgate
Carpenter has been out of stock for a few months with no update timeline. The usual sources (Mid-Fifty, midwest, cj’s) are back ordered and I’m guessing they buy from carpenter. I even tried buying an unbranded one on eBay and the supplier hasn’t been able to deliver. Some of the websites have shown them in stock but when I call they inform me of backorder.
Any thoughts on additional sources? My truck is almost done and I don’t really want to run it without a tailgate.

You'd think there's one in a junkyard somewhere. .. if the truck wasn't scrapped. They were used from 53 to 72 and then again from 76, I think, to 79?

I can't tell for sure, but is this the one you need? In the picture it looks larger than the F100 gate, and the letters appear to be up from center like the large gate has.

For what it is worth you are going to have to buy new or pick up a used one in person. I'm in the process of shipping a real decent F250 gate to 8pack. If I pretty much give it to him he will get an OK deal. Shipping prices for a non-business account are just insane right now. About $120 to ship halfway across the US.
