Need help quick

on my 98 f150, the dome light will not turn off, when i am driving the door ajar light will stay on, i checked all my doors many times and that is not the problem. i am just worried my battery might go dead this weekend while i am deer hunting out in the middle of no where. any suggestion? i have seen this posted on here before but i can't find it anymore.

sorry problem solved, put some relay and contact cleaner in the door. works fine now. is there going to be something that i am going to have to replace? there was alot of dirt in there from last weekend when i went to the deer lease.

The door switch is inside mounted to the back of the latch. When cleaning and lubing begin to fail you will have to replace it. Souldn't kill your battery though. They are supposed to have a timer in the BCM that will shut the light off after 45 minutes.

Tamuo5 spray alot and I mean alot of wd-40 into the door latch. Shut the door and open it again several times. This will fix the switch that becomes all gumed up with greese and dirt. The 97 f-150's are well known for this, wd-40 fixed mine and I have never had a problem with mine since. Try it it works.
