Are there any Ford markings or stamped numbers on it?

Its not something I have seen on my 81 F100's, flare side or style side trucks, and I have had both stripped to nothing.
But a WAG a 2nd battery tray?
Bolts to the left inner fender or radiator support?
Being your truck was a CC what bed was on the back?
Maybe from it?

Thanks. Interestingly, my cab and chassis only has one tank at the very back of the frame. The fire department used the truck to carry a large water tank to put out brush fires. I wonder if they deleted the mid-tank. Did all trucks come with dual tanks in 1982? Also, what is the capacity of the rear-most tank? Seems kind of small to me.

IIRC dual tanks was an option if you were ordering. But most likely there's a lot of duals out there from dealer orders. They were popular out west where fuel stations were further apart.

To right of the HVAC controls is where the dual tank switch would be if it had dual tanks.
AFAIK all rear tanks were 19 gallon.
Side tanks came in 2 sizes:
16 for short bed & flare side trucks.
19 for long bed trucks.
