Decoding a 66 I am looking at with engine code A (240 -6) and Trans code F.
Looking at the decoding site it says F is a Warner T89A 4 speed.
I have heard of a T18 and T19, but not this one. Typo? What does it have?
I'd prefer to lay eyes on the transmission itself. My '65 door tag said it was born with the Dana 44 rear axle but a previous owner swapped in a 9". Just never know.
Trans code F was used for a couple of different transmissions depending on model and series. A 1966 F100 with code F should have been a T18 while the P350/500 Diesel an F meant T98. Both are products of Warner Gear.
