Brake pressure switch location/ 1963 Ford F100

Does anyone know where the brake pressure switch is that activates the brake lights is? I was told it was on the master brake cylinder, however it is not. My master brake cylinder is round and there is no brake pressure switch on it, where else do I look? My brake lights do not come on when I step on the brake pedal, no fuses or light bulbs are out.

1963 Ford F100 223-6, standard on the column shift.

Thank you,

Gary

The brake (stop) lamp switch either threads directly into the front of the master cylinder, or to a brass fitting that is connected to the front of the master cylinder. Has two 'prongs' for the two wire plug to connect to.

This switch is "pressure activated" when the brake pedal is depressed...and is NOTORIOUS for getting gummed up with old brake fluid. When this occurres, the switch no longer works.

When Ford went to dual master cylinders in 1967, the switch is different, as its mounted on the brake pedal.

C1AZ-13480-A (replaced 0A-13480) .. Brake Lamp Switch (Motorcraft SW-24) / Available from Ford and a gazillion autoparts stores.

And: 666858 .. Brake Lamp Switch-same as C1AZ-13480-A & 0A-13480

Applications: 1940/66 Studebaker / 1940/54 Packard / 1955/56 Packard w/o Torsion Bar suspension.

Hey Hi from the UK. Interesting thread. My brake lights on my 63 stick of after driving for a while. They then stay on for say, ten minutes after I've stopped and switched everything off.
The switch does gum up. I'll replace it, but is there a way to stop that happening - getting the switch here at times is a pain. I use Rock Auto normally.
Can it be converted to pedal switch without changing to dual circuit?? Thank for any info fella.

The pressure switch on my '65 F-350 (originally, single master cylinder) was mounted on a cross fitting at the left frame rail under the cab floor. Looked original, too. Just follow the line from the MC and it has to be plumbed in somewhere!

Look at this thread. There are a couple of ways to use a pedal mounted switch. Brake light switch - Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums (ford-trucks.com)
