Working on my 1994 IDI turbo. Worked on shifter to tighten it up as it would not always start in park. All good here now. All of a sudden, I started blowing fuse 8 (hard shifts, no speedometer). It is now a dead short and blows fuse immediately. I need to fix this before I move on to torque converter issue. Circuit for fuse 8 is quite complex. Any pointers/strategy for diagnosing the issue are appreciated.

 

Dome light circuit.... Inspect the cigarette lighter and receptacle. Anything foreign in there?
