Sorry. I can't get a decent pic of it. It's a blue clip. It is the type you pull outward to unlock, then push in to release it. It is on the right side (facing the engine from the front), right below the 3" aluminum pipe. This is the fitting you remove and rotate up when installing the S&S bypass kit.
So if I buy 1 of these, can I remove the clip and install it in the elbow fitting on the truck ? Thinking it might be easier.
Yes that is the fitting I'm talking about.

I'm with @helifixer. On this... I don't think that clip is meant to be removable... If you buy the new fitting, I'm thinking you should replace the fitting. You can buy one of those 1/2 inch push lock hose menders to add more fuel line so you have the slack needed after you replace the fitting.

It's what I do... I've been looking into these fittings because once I get the fuel pressure set to 10 PSI on the Air Dog with the mechanical fuel pressure gauge/line once it's installed, I'm going to remove it and replace it with just a fuel line.
I've broken a lot of these over the years. They get brittle over time. Finding replacements can be tough. I now take a tie wrap and interweave it into the connector and secure them that way. Works fine and I have been doing that for over 15 years. They can't go anywhere and do not come loose.
OK. So I bought a couple of replacement fittings. They are, "Parker 12mm pushloc push-to-connect elbow quick fitting female SAE J2044 to barb" There's a mouth full. I bought 2 in case I broke 1. I was able to get the clip out and install it into the fitting on the truck. This way, I didn't have to mess with the fuel line. Works perfect! AND, I also found another place, I think it was on Ebay, that had just the clip itself. Unfortunately, I had already purchased the elbows. The 2 elbows were $ 20.90 delivered. The clips are like 8 or 9 $ for 2. The only thing when you are looking for them on Ebay is, YOU have to know what you are looking for. I.E. size.
Bought a couple gaskets from "Cheaper Ford Parts". Their prices are better but,..... they sent 2 of 1 and 1 of 1, the wrong way ! So the one I really need I am short 1. They will take it back, but they charge a restocking fee and YOU have to pay the return shipping too. So I will have a couple items left over to sell to a new home. At least at the local dealer, they take them back for no charge.

Pics bro... Pics please. I believe 12mm is the same as half inch. So I would assume you cut the hose where the push lock part was in, then cut it off and pushed the new one on? Did you use anything for lubricant to help the fitting go in?
End form and barb tail of a quick connect push lock fitting
Okay, so now I'm a little confused. The end form is the quick connector end and the barb tail is the hose end. If you look on the link I provide, you can see they make a connector with a 12mm end form and one with a 1/2 inch end form. They are both listed with 1/2" barb tails.
Anyone know the difference between a 12mm quick connection and a 1/2" quick connection?? I know the size is different but I wonder how to tell the difference between the male connectors. Just looking for more info.
