My truck has once again left me stranded miles from home. Driving along, minding my own business, a chime goes off and display says "DEF system default", 50 miles to speed limited. The DEF level is full. Had a soft code P0218F. DEF injector nozzle??
Got it to a dealer, who took it right in. They found the nozzle pressure was good, but there were several software updates the truck needed. Now the updates are done and the code is not returning, they can't get the derated speed warning to go away, even after 4 drive cycles. Are they missing something? In the meantime, I am stranded.
But, big shout out to Anderson Ford, Bullhead City, AZ. Knowing my situation, they took the truck right away, and are doing everything possible to get me ony way.
have they called the hotline? Might need some re-programming.
The called the hotline, and had to reflash the pcm. I think it's kind of crappy that the manufacturers come out with software updates, then make you pay for them, but whatever, I am back.on the road.
I am not sure why it's such a process to get the speed limiter to go away. this crap should not be this hard to reset a light. They had to do 3 drive cycles to get mine to go away with same issue. My dealer is 20 miles away so I had to wait all day. they didn't give up and the truck has been rock solid since.
