6.7 Def usage chart

Here’s a chart that’s hard to find

it basically says you will use little def unless you use a lot

simular to modern weather reports

in my case, I added 2.5 gallons in 8k miles

couldnt tell you my miles to empty since my def gauge always shows full, until it is empty.

I rented a 2020 F250 XLT CCSB 6.7 PSD with 3.31 rear. I pulled a 6000 lb GVWR (~5200 - 5600 lb actual weight) camper 3,756 miles over 9 days through MS, TN, AR, TX, NM, CO, WY, SD, IO, MO, TN, and back to MS. (My sig picture is us coming into WY!) I went through approximately 10 gallons of DEF throughout the whole trip and roughly 350 gallons of diesel. I averaged 11 mpg with the camper hooked up. This trip also included about 300 - 350 miles of driving unhooked from the camper (although I don't remember what my combined mpg was). Also, FWIW, this truck had a whopping 52 miles on it when I picked it up from Enterprise Truck company, so it was still basically brandy new... not even broke in yet! I think we did that though...

Pretty much similar to the above post. Just took a trip of around 3500 miles and had to add 5g a couple of times when the "alert" came up on my dash. 2019 f350 CCLB SRW and AF990 camper. I could drive around town for the same amount of miles and probably add maybe 2 1/2g. hauling a load uses more. DEF here in SD cost 8 bucks at WM. Purchasing at WM in Utah 14 bucks for the same size container.

I haven't towed with my 20 yet, I think it has the 3.31. Just completed a CO-KY-CO trip of over 2900 miles. I used ECO mode on the highway and avg 22-25mpg. The overall trip included 2 weeks of city driving and final mpg was 20.5. Odometer has 4840 miles on it and DEF says I can go another 2500.

If you drill in through the menus, somewhere in one of the maintenance ones, it should tell you.

I just stuck a clean 1/2 clear hose down the def fill port. It went in about 18 inches and was bone dry when I pulled it out,

I guess I need a def dip stick..looks like my “always shows full guage” may not be working.

I use my DEF gauge about the same why I do the fuel gauge, when it hits a certain point I fill it. Not too concerned with how many miles per gallon I get or how long my DEF will last.
Just checked mine and it shows:

SardiverDan - looks like you need to enable gauge values in Forscan. As for the DEF gauge my OCD just wants to make sure I don’t run low in BFE

Not sure it’s worth it as most of the gauges don’t change that much.

Being curious how inaccurate my “full indicating” def guage was….I bought a 2.5 bottle and filled my “full indicated” def tank. It was able to take 1.75 gallons.

so “DEFinitly, my def gauge is useless.

will get it checked out the next time I get a service appt.
