Hey fellas, I'm sure this has been asked a million times. I'm driving a potential new truck for the weekend. 2016 f250 6.7 lariat. 77k miles on the odo. Truck is very clean and has been well cared for. It runs strong and gets about 16mpg so far I've noticed the dpf is not there and from the downpipe back is straight tubing. Lots of wires along the exhaust path snipped that I'm assuming went to the DPF system. Ive got around 150 miles on it now (me driving around) no CEL or alerts of any sort as of yet. I'm assuming that means it already had a tune done. It appears all the EGR is still in place. Is there any cause for concern here? Any info would be great. I'm new to the diesel world but not to the mechanical world. In addition, None of the egr or throttle plate plugs have been unplugged. Do I need to unplug them? No clue what tune is in this thing.

Thanks guys. Like I said. I have no idea what tune is in this thing. Im probably going to do a full egr delete and buy a minimax so I know whats in it. Give me some peace of mind.

I have the mini max and i love it . My truck has never run as well as it does now. Shift on the fly capable I either use the tow tune or a 50hp increase tune but u could go up to a 200 hp increase if u wanted( I dont really care about all that extra HP just want a good running truck). I was told by Mini Max if I was leaving the EGR in place(which was perfectly fine) just to make sure and unplug it so as not to damage it. Only 3 plugs on EGR so I would rather be safe than sorry.
don't buy it unless you are given the factory parts, the stock tunes and what is used to monitor and program it.
Otherwise you are asking for trouble.
If i plan to finish the full egr delete and put a new tune on it what all am I leaving myself open to not having original parts and tuner? Its from an actual ford dealer not an individual. I really don't think they're gonna have the tuner.
Senix is right. Unless the seller can give me proof of work done, including the tuning, I'd walk away. And not having a monitoring system on a modified truck is worrying. These thing get expensive really quickly when they aren't done right.

Most likely the egr has already been deleted someone just left it plugged in when u delete dpf that also deletes egr as well. How is the dealer selling it to when its deleted ? How does that conversation go ?? I did not think a ford dealer could sell the truck for road use any way?
I can definitely get delete tunes still. Theyre just pricey. And im assuming this guy has no idea its deleted. Tells me they're either clueless or shady. Either way I'm probably not buying unless they just drop the price ridiculously low. I don't have emissions where I live, so it wouldn't be a huge deal.
Is it even legal to sell a vehicle on the used car lot with the factory emissions system altered or outright deleted? I don't know about your geographical location, but I do know there are heavy penalties in mine if that were the case. That said, I wouldn't walk, I would RUN away from this vehicle.
