Did my Dad's 240 on a cheap stand, kept a board under nose end. A 4 wheel stand that was heavier built would have been better.

Engine on the hoist. Mission accomplished. Thanks for the advice! Now I need to find my engine stand and get it mounted.

I am replying to the engine specific thread instead of your truck thread. I agree with the suggestion to do some disassembly. I recommend at least pulling the valve cover, lifter cover, and oil pan. Clean all sludge and decide if you need to go further into the engine. Pull the front pulley and rear main cap so you can replace the front and rear main seals (have to roll the upper half of the rope seal in unless you pull the crank out). Replace all freeze plugs with good brass replacements. Fairly inexpensive gaskets and common replacement parts, but help keep the engine leak free for many miles.
