I searched the forum and found a few ambient lighting threads but most seem to reference similar but not identical problems to the one I have. My issue is that I have the factory ambient lighting installed, and while it "works" it just isn't very bright. I have searched my Sync for the ambient lighting option under "Vehicle" (and everywhere else) but it just isn't there. I have also updated Sync to the latest version available for my vehicle. My deduction is that if the lighting itself is installed and working, I should be able to adjust the brightness somewhere. I know from reading this forum and Youtube videos that it will never be super bright, but Youtube has various videos which appear to show brighter ambient lights than mine - especially the cupholders which on mine are really dim. My truck is a 2019 F250 Lariat "Ultimate" Package.
In this post (https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...l#post18156769) I found the Forscan options for ambient lighting, but I guess I'm hesitant to use Forscan for fear of messing up my truck which still has a year of full warranty coverage. Would you guys use Forscan to fix this or take it to the dealer?
On my 17 it is in the touchscreen when I select settings and swipe to the last page it is by itself. Mine has the multi color and when I select the color I can slide it to adjust the brightness. Not sure if the 19’s still had multi color option or had gone to single color but the setting may be in the same location.
Thanks guys. Yeah, I guess they got rid of any adjustability at all - be it color or intensity. I don't really mind not being able to adjust the color but not having a brightness/intensity control seems really stupid since it brightens up quite nicely when I turn the truck off and open the door. So it's definitely possible to control but evidently the owner can't do it. Thanks a lot, Ford! I was able to enable the ambient light option through Sync using Forscan, but it doesn't work to control the intensity of my current modules.
Heller is selling the OEM kit for like $215 on Ebay. It seems like a lot to spend and a lot of work but I want to be able to control the intensity so I guess I don't have any other choice.
