CDL for a S1900?

I was looking at an 85 International S1900 for cheap and got to thinking do you need a CDL just to drive one? It's got a 7 speed manual with a DT466 engine. It would be cool to have one just as a toy to mess around with.

If you are not driving for pay, you don't need a CDL. It doesn't matter how big the truck is, as long as you are not making money driving you don't need a CDL.

CDL is for Commercial Driver’s License; if it is purely for personal use, you don’t need one. Farm use may or may not; depends on the State you’re in and how far you’re going. However, you may need a Class B or Class A (non-commercial), or whatever applies, in your State. The vast majority of RV pullers should have a non-commercial Class A, but most don’t.

What is the GVWR?

Your intended use?

RV and Ag exemptions exist.
