In replacing the hub/bearing on my 99 f250 4x4. Just finished the drivers side. Have the passengers side apart and there is an extra washer that was not on the other side, I am assuming this isn't normal, correct? If not I need to buy another one for the drivers side. Any idea what it is called? See pic thanks
Previous mechanic found it is easier to put together without all the parts. Yes the other side needs one but i dont know the nomenclature.
I guess so! Looks like it is a Thrust Washer. The grooves to towards the axle. P/N - F81Z-4228-BA (In case somebody in the future needs this as a reference.)
Clineco: How long did the job take? I am curious about doing mine on a 2002 F250 CC 4x4. Got any other pix of the process? What specialized tools did you need to do the bearing removal?

I had never done it before (obviously) so I took my time. I'd say it took a couple hours per wheel. That's with new brakes and rotors and double checking myself. I just ordered the new thrust washer from riff raff. I think I can take it apart and put it back together in less than an hour now. Sorry, I didn't take pics. There are a couple of vids on youtube that walk you through the process.
only tools needed were sockets, torque wrench and snap ring pliers. It was actually pretty darn easy. My torque wrench only goes up to 150lbs, so i had to borrow a bigger one.
