I have inherited this pickup but I have very little knowledge about.
I think it may be a 1969 f100 Ranger but what is puzzling me is that it 4x4 and from what I gathered from the vin number, attached in photo, it should be a 2 wheel drive.
Cab is off a 1969 F100 LWB 2wd that has been put onto a 4wd F250/350 frame judging from the 8 lug axles and front hubs. Post up some more pictures if you can, nice looking, interesting truck. You’ll need to find the frame VIN stamp to figure out exactly what it is. Finding the VIN
Are the front wheels 8 lug? If not, it might be as simple as a rear axle swap.
Very cool truck.
I was thinking the same thing, but sure looks like a 4x4 hub up front. The paint code matches the cab, which matches the rest of the body spot on. Could these year trucks put a F100 bed on a 4x4 F250 frame?

You're probably right, it's more likely a swapped cab (fenders and bed too) than swapped axles.
Yeah, you need to find the VIN and decode. It definitely looks like a F-250 4x4 frame (see metal below front bumper).
Sheet metal has been swapped from a F100. That tag you pictured is not a VIN tag, but a "Warranty tag". Could even just be as simple as the door was swapped over.
Look up the actual VIN (need strong light and wire brush.

Very true…it’s plausible that a matching paint door was put on a long time ago. No way of knowing without that frame VIN. Even then it would take a marti report to figure out the color and trim details I’d guess.
thank you for the insight and I reckon that is correct. I have added a few more pictures. I will investigate the vine # from the frame.
I need to decide if Frankenstein will be worth the time and investment. I am most concerned on how they adapted the mounts to accept the 4x4 frame with the F100 body. I don’t suspect it was a “natural” fit. This along with trying to obtain a title is a bit concerning to me.

Cab mounts the same 2wd or 4wd. Box should also. Core support should be the same but I am Not sure. So...no "adapting" was most likely done. IIRC, cab mounts were the same well into the 90s.
The VIN is the VIN. That tag on the door is not official. So don't go getting wound up about title issues before you get there.
This isn't a Frankenstein. It is just a collection of some bits. If it has the low pinion/disc brake front axle of the 76-77, it is a better truck than the stock 67-72.
I had (operative word had) a stock 67. It was a terrible beast to drive. It now has a a 78 front axle with disc brake, power steering from a 78-79, and power brakes. It is currently getting a 94 EFI 460, 94 ZF 5 trans and a married BW1356 trans. I don't consider this rig a Frankenstein...
