So a while back I asked where I could find the following ****, thinking it was an OEM 73-79 **** only to find out it was not:
However I liked it's design so much that I hit a bud off mine from the Miata.net forums to see about turning one for me out of wood and custom engraving. We settled on oak with dark stain, custom engraving to match the long throw pattern for 1st and R and knurling on the side. My guy has perfected the art of making custom ***** for Miatas and has many different shapes - but a shroom shape like this one was his first cut and of course the engraving took a lot of trial and error (thus why the R looks the way it is)... But overall, I think it came out badass and it feels heaps better in the hand than the bakelite generic $10 amazon **** I had before.
For reference, this is the one he made for my Miata:
Truck **** looks good. Slightly agricultural but that was the intent for dents. At 6'4 I can't drive Miatas, no room for knee, can't shut the door and use clutch. I worked at a dealer and had to drive into shop with door held open. Now have him make one for the transfer case to match.

Thanks - I was trying to replicate the original style of the **** (i.e. the agricultural look). And regarding the TF - not a bad idea, but first, it needs a front driveshaft
