I am rebuilding my 8BA in my 49 F1 when I broke it down the only color I could see was blue on the timing cover, and the oil pan wasn’t the traditional truck pan in the manuals. When I go to buy a new clutch kit, it measured 9” as in the photo. I’m guessing this was a car engine and tranny that was out of a 8BA? So I guess I can go back with a 9” or buy a new flywheel? I’m just going to cruise this truck around town.
Yes, likely a car engine and the clutch is probably a 9-1/2 Car clutch. (measure the PP surface) As long as you aren't hammering on it, the 9-1/2" will be fine. Just make sure the new disc has 1-3/8" splines for a truck trans, not the smaller Car spline (1-1/8"? I don't recall offhand).
