N/A idi hood scoop, and removing stock air cleaner.
Got a old county truck (1992 F250 xlt 7.3 idi). Want to feed more air but don't have money for a turbo kit. I know alot of guys just cut out the soup bowl. I was thinking 5in pipe off the intake manifold straight to a 5in cone filter. Along with a functional hood scoop to feed it. Anyone tried this?

There's a 1/4 or 1/8 pipe plug on the air cleaner to plumb in an air restriction indicator. Buy one, install it, pull a steep grade, later you'll see that the gauge never moved. The engine is already getting all the air it can use with the stock air intake system. Your money, waste it if makes you happy.
