Hub removel help

So I getting rid of my auto hubs and replacing them w/ some superwinch manuals. I've gotten rid of everything except the piece that connects to the shaft. thats all thats left of the hub. It will come forward and back, but won't come off. There are some pins on the sides that looked like they kept the hub in but not so. heres some pics to help explain.

In the notch at the bottom of the first picture should be a cover plate. Below that plate are 2 pins that are part of a snap ring. Pinch the pins together while pulling on the hub. It should slide out.
