My 2011 has a problem Ive never seen discussed. after sitting overnight it will not move when placed in gear. It act like brakes are applied but they arent since it will roll in neutral. After aminute it will move. Took it to Ford dealer and transmission guy says it needs to be replaced. Anyone had a Ford remanufactured transmission installed?
For the 6R140 there have been reports of the torque converter causing stalling which I think was when it's cold.
Obviously this is not your problem, however your symptoms are common on Allys when the filter falls out. I dealt with this on our '08 GMC and just used an aftermarket pan that supports the filter from underneath -- there's also a filter lock made in the aftermarket.
Anyway, I'd at least drop your pan before you pony up $$ for a new tx. I've never heard of 6R140 filters falling out and I don't even know if it's possible, but I know it's easy and inexpensive to check
Heres an update.I got it back after 45 days at the dealer. $5800 was the total for trans ,converter and cooler.. Aftermarket warranty paid $3400 of it. Ford remans come with a 36 month warranty.
