I have a 2020 F250 STX that I am trying to install factory bed lights and switch on. There is a really good thread on this forum that breaks down all the part numbers and even the connectors to add the two wires to the OEM 12 pin plug on the passenger frame rail located here: OEM Cargo Light Retrofit? - Page 9 - Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums (ford-trucks.com)
LA-Sahara did an excellent writeup on this. So I made my add on harness as laid out in the thread and I made the changes in Forscan as listed on the 2020 spreadsheet also found on this forum. When I hit the momentary ground button in the bed my overhead (3rd brake) cargo light comes on and off, but not the bed lights themselves. I tested for voltage at the light connectors and get 0v (being LED I was thinking I might have the polarity at the plug wrong). I've checked my grounds, went thru each connector, and double-checked my forscan settings. At the 12 pin plug the truck white goes to the 12v+ to the lights, and the truck white/blue goes to the switch in the bed. Perhaps I still have a forscan setting wrong? Lots of brilliant minds on this forum, can anyone help me out please?
I found the issue, turns out the polarity was indeed backwards on the lights. The com terminal on my volt meter was making bad contact hence the 0v reading. All is well!
