Would you sell?

Think of selling my 2020 F-250 Lariat Sport with the low inventory and crazy pricing. Not sure how ordering a 2022 would go. Don't really need the truck just have to have one because I love them. Would you sell ?

Tough call.

We have 2 newer Ford trucks, a 2019 F150 XLT Super Cab and a 2020 F350 Lariat Ultimate CCSB Diesel. With discounts and rebates we purchased the F150 for only $23,800. Car max offered $37,313 for it today.

We use the F350 to tow our 5th wheel so it needs to stay.

We don’t really need the 150. It’s paid for and we really like it.

We have the same difficult decision. The offer from Carvana is good until July 1st so we are not in a rush to decide.

No, I need my truck. It's a daily driver.

Man I am close. The local Subaru dealer has 6 used super duty’s and 3 are white powerstroke 350’s (my favorite color). My 7.3 is a 19 so I wouldn’t mind laterally moving into the same truck just a 6.7. My new excavator isn’t due until September which is the reason for the 7.3 to 6.7 switch. If I wasn’t getting the new machine I would never let go of the 7.3

Yes as long as you can get a good deal on a new one, you can special order exactly what you want and have it 2 model years newer, no miles and 3 year 36 mo warranty its a no brainer.

I am. I have a 2019 F350 Platinum CCLB with the 6.7 PSD. 13k miles. I bought it used this past November for $66k so i was $70k out the door. My local Ford dealer offered me $74k so with the tax credit it is $78k total. Im going to sell/trade my truck in now and I am going to order the same exact truck but a 2022. The wait is going to be annoying but I feel that I should take advantage of the crazy market.

I ordered a 2022, my 2019 has 13k miles on it. The offer was too tempting to pass up. I love my 2019, so might as well get a 3 year newer one and love it too! I know they are still trying to fix the mess with the 2021s but hopefully we will start seeing 2022s late August. As far as trade value dropping by then? I don’t see it going down much if any, my local Ford dealer has about 15 cars to sell and they aren’t stuff people are looking for. My local VW dealer has no new cars and about 10 used vehicles Sitting there for sale. This isn’t going to fix itself anytime soon so if you want the newer truck, take advantage of the insane trade in prices and get ya one!

Are you keeping your 2019 until the 2022 shows up? My dealer obviously wants the truck now to give me the $74k offer. Im trying to find a decent/reasonable 6.0 or early 6.7 to get us through as my wife pulls a gooseneck horse trailer pretty regularly.

yeah I’m keeping the truck, they offered me both ways, buy it now or trade it later I’m rolling the dice and hoping the trade value holds, I believe it will.

I’ve read the resale values will stay strong for another two years before the truck market finally gets saturated. There’s a bunch of special gas half tons coming to market namely Toyota is poised to dominate.

Toyota will never dominate any part of the truck market unless it’s for the little trucks.

If they can get inventory to the lot they will dominate. Hopefully they keep the current gen tundra in some form around.

As far as selling, speculate all you want but if the money is good and you trade often go for it. Granted if you need it don’t take the money and start walking to work.

Better yet find something random and trade is so you get the tax credit. Helps you haggle some too.

If you don’t need the truck and are willing to wait then it may be advantageous but don’t bet on prices being as good as the days before Covid. Maybe they will, but never count on it.
