Hard to say... I'm really happy with mine. 2019 F250 CCSB STX FX4 6.2. I'd be tempted for the right money, but then I have to find something to replace it.
Honestly, here's my position on this common topic : yeah I could make a lot of money off selling my 2020. I could literally have 30k (not all profit mind you) in a check. But what the F am I gonna do with 30k? There's hardly any used trucks selling for a half reasonable value to price ratio, and, I'm not going to go put that money in the stock market, and it won't be enough to make any real estate purchases.
It's exciting but no, I need a truck. The dollar is so inflated that it's value is really underwhelming. Not to doom and gloom on the subject, but if the **** hits the fan, paper money isn't going to mean much, but having the tools and ability to take care of your own, will.
If I'd get the $83k I paid new, with 30k miles on it right now, I'd for sure do it. After this trip, I can wait as long as needed for a new one. I use it only for camping. Well, I use back and forth because I like it, but really, I'm just putting unnecessary miles on an $80k vehicle to run back and forth to the store, when I could just take my beater car instead. lol. I wonder if the shortage will last until winter. It's set up with snow plow prep package too. Maybe someone could make better use of it than me. If the snow is getting that deep, I'm skiing haha.
I won’t be selling my truck anytime soon. I need / want a truck. What would I replace it with ? Whatever I’d buy would probably cost me more than I’d get for mine. Same goes with my home. I have had a few offers for my place that were way over what it’s worth. But , a new place would likely require me to have to borrow money. Now doesn’t seem to be the time to be buying anything. I think I lucked out and bought my truck at the right time. I may update my truck sooner, but I probably wouldn’t have to for 10-15 years.
I think the full lots and sales incentives are at least 18 months away. So, higher used prices aren’t going anywhere.
Aside from the new screen, there is absolutely nothing about the 22 that would make me trade in my 20’. Since the 23’ will most probably have significant interior changes and another power bump, I’m definitely not interested yet, and instead I’ll wait for the 23’ where the build should happen mid to later next summer, and the potential of another refresh is very high.
Well I just did it, sold my 2020 F-250 with 7,200 miles to a local used car lot for $7000 more than I paid for it new ($4,000 more than my OTD price). My 2022 F-350 will be a late July build. I only use it to pull my travel trailer and have no planned trips in the next few months so I won't miss it. I bought the 2020 off the lot because I needed to replace my 2012 F-150 for a couple of long trips with the travel trailer. It was not the ideal choice for me but lots were pretty thin just as the COVID shut-downs hit. Now I will have a two year newer F-350 with my option choices down to the last detail for very little out of pocket (mostly sales tax penalty). I would have traded my truck in but the Ford dealers would not offer anywhere near what I got from the independent dealer($10,000 difference). I expect to hold onto the 2022 for many years so having a custom fit truck is worth it and life is short.
Selling your truck now at these prices might seem OK. But when your new truck gets here 6, 8, or 10 months from now. ????????
Dealers are going to come up with all kinds of added surcharges and other traps to bust you with. Your $$$$$$$$ are deflating in value faster than a prom dress disappears. I am old, and have seen many crazy things happen; but I have yet to see car dealers in business to lose money.
My 2019 is worth about $3000 more(on the low end)than I paid for it when new but I'm keeping it. The new ones aren't available with a manual transfer case and that's an option I really wanted to have, patience isn't one of my virtues but I waited for almost three months to get my special order with the manual case.

Keep watching that field in Kentucky fill up with trucks and keep telling yourself that. Those Union guys arent taking any days off.
I’ll take the $75k on trade (really closer to $80) now on another make and just order me a new one once those chips start arriving.

Its all so incredibly relative.
That pile of new trucks? They are a drop in the bucket to restock America as Ford is still struggling to produce vehicles.
What you just bought in trade? The bottom will fall out just as fast as everything else once America’s stock is replenished and the incentive battles begin.
Its a potential 25K difference from what I paid, to buy a 21 equally equipped that may arrive when?
Order a 22? Wait longer..
The cost of all of this, is going without.
The guys who are selling direct and coming close to new cost? Great..But, are they forgetting to mention that unless they live in a state tax free state, or trade in on something potentially overpriced, they just ate a ton of sales tax credit?
Good for those who traded their rides for money are are happy going truckless….everyone has their own agenda.
Great for those who swung a great deal and are still driving something not overpriced. .
If/when there is an overstock of new vehicles in 23’? I’ll still get premium trade money on my low mileage truck and hopefully drive something with an updated interior. Whatever potential trade in prices may drop, I’ll make it up with factory incentives.
At then end of the day, it’s all going to wash out the same on a trade.

This is something I was wondering about myself, and haven't seen anyone really factoring that into the equation. I guess it's situational. Although I don't plan to sell or trade, I have thought about it.
For me I look at a direct sale for more than what I paid as having several tax implications. First, any profit over what I paid is taxable income. Also, I believe the IRS would want me to pay back any depreciation write offs I have already taken on my current truck. If it sold for profit it obviously didn't depreciate. Then there is the fact that I paid a hefty tax on the purchase of my current truck, and would again have to pay a hefty, likely even higher tax (higher than normal purchase price) on the new replacement. All of that leaves me wondering if there really is any financial advantage selling direct.
