Lincoln y block

I need some guidance again. I have a 56 c750 that has the Lincoln y block 302 in it. I have been running it just got it licensed and on the road. I had the engine out and replaced seals and some other things in the engine when I had it out. So now my problem is, my rear main seal is leaking pretty bad. The kit I got for it came with the rope style seal. What I would like to see, from you guys is can I get a neoprene seal instead of the rope style.

I have bought neoprene seals from Napa for smaller Y blocks ok but I got no clue about 302s & 332s. I trust you soaked the rope seals in oil for a couple of days?? thats what ya gotta do....
