C6 to NP205 linkage

C6 to NP205 linkage
I have a '77 F150 4X4 that I am converting from 4 speed to C6. The C6 to NP205 adapter is about 2" long than the 4 speed adapter. So this requires a longer linkage rod from the cab shift lever to the transfer case link. Where can I get one of these longer links? I have seen some photos with longer links on line. I live in the middle of nowhere with salvage yards 150 miles away. Any help, or suggestions for making one, would be appreciated.
