Appears to be a nice install.
But 500 bux to keep 6 bottles of water cold?
I believe I’d invest in a larger unit and put it in on the floor in the back of the cab.
And some are also a freezer.
Agreed. There are some very nice dual voltage fridges and fridge freezers that'll do a lot more than hold 6 bottles of water and take up the entire center console.
Since the in console unit is a mini fridg..How much heat does it put out into the cab? How much power consumption? will the truck shut it off to protect the battery..Curious but not 5-600.00 for me.
Get me a small yeti cooler 2-300 dollars. a couple bags of ice and i get 4-5 days of cold. nothing breaks or malfunctions. Im old school.
Looks great! But, in my old brain, a refrigerator is just a heat exchanger. I.E. remove heat from inside a box and pumps it to outside the box.
So, how is the heat disposed of?
Hi Desert Don , you have it right . As a matter of physics we don't make cold , we remove heat . I also wonder where the heat goes . It has to be vented to the cab of the truck . They do look pretty cool though but I have the console safe . Hondomurph

So how much latent heat is in a box of that volume that needs to be pushed into the cab? I'd say not enough for you to even notice. The TEDs in the cooled seats push way more heat into the cabin than that fridge would.
That's a nice setup but I couldn't give up the console storage for all of my junk.

Well, that makes “some” sense I guess. Just a thought and question I had living here in sunny AZ. The amount of heat generated inside the cabin “might” be an issue in this part of the world.......IDK. Not likely I am going to run out and buy one........like you, I need my space for junk!
For anyone that's interested, I designed a set of Inserts for the fridge that can be 3D Printed. The fridge is great for long road trips, but when not in use, the Inserts allow for storage so you don't lose all that available space.
I just bought one of these off Amazon. They're down to $100. Unreal! Got it installed yesterday. I'm doing a test on it now to see how long I can run it with maintenance charger on my batteries. So far it's been on 5 hours and 12.6v. I changed the power outlets via Forscan to go 8 hours after the truck is shut off. If anyone is wanting one of these, They are extremely cheap now. 30 min install too.
