So pleased you got her finished and were able to take her to the nats. When you get bored make a longer video. It would be well watched on youtube. I know I'd like to see it.
I agree with Fenders. That short video doesn't do you truck justice. I was standing by a guy looking at it when he realized it had Ghost flames. Ya really gotta see it in person!

I hope to. I saw it in person mid-build and the work was high quality.
And I will go there. The truck would trophy up at most car shows, but you took it to the Effie Super Bowl, where folks with bottomless wallets can have five pros working on a build for months. They can stand beside a truck equipped with all the latest trends. Would it really be your award if you did it that way? I've never had any interest in that game, and it's not just because I couldn't afford it.
My favorite trucks drive around some. They go to the local diner and the family picnic. You don't have to haul any dirt in it until next year John.
It was good to meet you at the show John...your truck is even more beautiful in person! We on this forum all know how much time and attention to detail you invested in your truck so I guess we have an unfair advantage over the show judges...they only get to see the "skin" on top.
After building my 49, I restored my Mercedes 190SL. I am toying with the idea of showing it in concours at the annual 190SL on Cape Cod in September. I did about 95% of the restoration with my own hands. I would be up against those with fat wallets, however, there is one special award that goes to the car being shown in concours where it is heavily restored by the owner. To me, that is the award that really matters. And John, that is what you are getting from those on the forum.
Off topic but a few picx:

Bill, I would encourage you to go for it. Put it in the show and see how you do. You've done a great job, the car is beautiful, and it deserves to be seen by people who will appreciate it. The people will appreciate it even more when they realize it was done by you and not someone else. You will appreciate it and enjoy the car that much more, too.
When showing at a concours or at a National AACA meet all are equal when you enter the show field . At the 2017 Nat's the First Ride was awarded top 10 of 408 , Best in Class &'48-'52 Truck of the Year which garnered a piece of sheet aluminum w/ a F-100 Super National decal . Really ?

Yes, Denny, Really. Only when you come at life with a humble heart, sharing your gifts without expectation and self-pride, will you be happy with the results.
