I was half thinking of putting this 428 stroker monster in my 62 Cheby 1/2 ton stepside, just to put some balance on the other side....A cheby with a Ford motor, now that's different :-)
I might even get Dyno numbers tomorow :-) The truck is almost completely functional, yet no bed installed. All lights are go (rigged up some rear trailer lights etc). I still have not mountd the AC compressor, but that's one of the few remaiing items.
I guess I could put my smooth running 352/MX tranny from the 67 F250 in that Cheby :-)
How about this??? Cut the body off the bus, shorten the frame of it, and put your F-250 body on it. I saw it done with a Chevy. They took a C-30 pickup body and a C-60 Bus Frame and cut the bus body off, shortened the frame, moved the rear axle forward, left the engine and tranny in, and put the C-30 Body on in place of the bus body. I believe it had a 366 Industrial engine, and a Allison automatic in it.
With a setup like that, you'd have a strong frame, a good engine, and you could pull one heck of a trailer with the low rearend that bus probably has.
You could take every one by surprise at a truck pull with your "F-250/F-600."
thats not a bad idea but i would have to put in a 300 gallon fuel tank just to drive across town this bus is like a quadrajet you can watch the gauge drop just by looking at it plus the bus has 825/20s bias ply tires and split rims that cant be replaced with anything else plus the top speed is 68 mph wow thats fast the bus has 680 gears
Quadrajet??? I thought that was on a GM. Use the gas tank from the bus, if you have space. You don't have to be a speed demon to have a truck. I haven't thought about the split rims before, is there a way to like remove the inner rim and replace it with a 10-lug setup?
Consider the reduced weight by shortening the frame, basically you'd be cutting over half the frame, cutting your weight almost in half. Your gas consumption would decrease considerably.
