So far I love this 7.3 gas engine and 10 speed trans. I don't feel like I am missing anything. Pulling power up hills with Northstar Laredo attached is amazing.

The 7.3 will prove to be a very durable engine and paired with the 10 spd , best tow vehicle I've had.
I feel the same way. My 21 7.3 is by far the best truck I have ever owned! Enough power, enough pep, gas mileage (when i don't hot rod). I will have it till i am dead or an accident.....
I was in the front yard doing lawn work when my wife pulled into the driveway with the 7.3. Man, that is a GREAT sounding engine.
I had myself convinced I was leaving the diesel world and my next truck was going to be a 7.3 with 4:30 gears for towing. Was just on a camping trip with my Ford tech friend and got to talking about diesel vs. 7.3. He said he doesn't like them, just because they are so loud, and I'd probably not enjoy long tow rides. He told me they've been putting them in a lot of class C's and they've been blowing up. Then I see the You Tube video about the chain in the transmission that only seems to be affecting the 7.3 gas motor. Now I'm really stuck on which way to go. I guess I'm just getting too old, still enjoy the rumble, but don't want to listen to it for 6- 12 hours when I'm towing. And yes most all of my trips are that far. If ya don't leave the state, you ain't traveling!

I've heard about the spark plug wiring issue which would be annoying because it sidelines the truck and it's not like wiring hasn't been around for a long time. Did your tech friend actually mean "blowing up" because to most people that means a windowed block or at least shedding pieces. If that was an exaggeration then your tech friend has the same problem plaguing our media...take a morsel of truth and grow it into a mountainous lie.

My closest friend is manager of large Ford dealership and sold a total of (10) 2021 7.3 Superduty trucks until they ran out.
Not one truck has been in for any mechanical issue, including mine.
I've heard of a few hiccups with 2020 models.
Are you saying the 7.3 is loud ?
I've got 2000 miles towing with mine and it's very quiet inside.

Your friend makes more money off 6.7 repairs than 7.3....Fact!

Believe he said they had 2 in the shop, and a third one coming in with 700 miles on it that he hadn't seen yet. Don't know the exact problems, truthfully I didn't ask.

No, I didn't say they're loud because I've never been in one. He said he didn't like how loud they are. All I've seen on you tube with these guys doing heavy tows, the noise does seem to carry through the cab. Guess I'll have to find one to try for myself.
