Cab removal

Hey guys I have a question about removing a crew cab on a 96 f350. Main reason I want to remove the cab is to sandblast and prime and paint the frame, unless there is a way to do this without pulling the cab. I figure if I do pull the cab, might as well do all the body mounts as well. I know the bed is fairly simple to remove, but is it all that terrible to pull the cab off as well? If I proceed to pull the cab I am going to have to find a way to lift it off the frame. Please let me know if anyone has any experience pulling a crew cab and how hard it is.

Thank You,
Christian

Just recently did this myself. It's a job for sure, and the cab is pretty heavy. I tore it all apart down to just a rolling chassis so that it made it easier to sandblast and paint all the nooks and crannies. The bed is pretty easy, harness, 3 screws on fuel necks, bed bolts, and a couple little support rods for stiffening the side panels. The cab entails removing the 4 cab mount bolts, steering linkage bolt, a/c lines, pcm/ wiring harness (these have a plug on the firewall), and a few other little things but not too much. I put straps through the doors of my cab and lifted above that with a hoist and worked well not damaging the cab. Anyways good luck and be safe with the dry sandblasting, some people believe it causes Silicosis if sand is used.
