10 sp tranny issues, 6.2L, 4000 mi

I've had issues with shifting and my poor daughter thinks I am trying to make her a Bobble Head on purpose
Between that and the typewriter ticking, it's already been in once at 2000 mi.
They thought that the ticking was the Torque Converter bolts hitting the cover and fixed it. Ok, not what I was hearing but thanks.

Wed I thought I could hear some light scrapping sounds or something that was slightly off.

Yesterday I get this sound after a 5 min warm up while I was cutting a couple branches to bring to the compost place. It was about 76-80º then. The warming up shouldn't have anything to do with it. According to the truck it said my nose was down 3º, that is my driveway.
I grabbed my phone and took a video so I can show the tech... because I will be WAITING for it this time and want to talk to the tech.

This is the 6.2L GASSER. I almost thought I was back in my old Diesel .
Tell me I'm not wrong here and that this doesn't sound normal.
sorry about the leg shot... don't look

Sounds like a water pump bearing or something in the accessory drive pulley system. What you could do is to remove the drive belt and start the truck. If the noise goes away, then you at least know that it's something in the accessory drive.

This is what mine sounds like. It has the 6 speed but it is the torque converter physically hitting in the bell housing leaving shavings and scoring.
It has alreadybeen in for a new torque converter and returned with the same noise. When it went in they had 3 other trucks with the same noise two were 10speed 7.3

So what are they going to do about it? Do you get a new Tranny, did they replace the bell housing plate?
Did they give you a loaner?

I go in tomorrow and I'm going to wait for them to fix it. If they can't fix it they better give me a loaner.
I'm a little PO'd that it has 4000 mi on her and it's now in twice.

I have been trying to work through this with them for 4 months. Mine started the week I bought it. I only have 2000 mi on my truck since I bought it February 2. I need to put about 2000 a month on it but its un usable. Not once have I been offered a rental and honestly it wouldn't do me any good unless it is set up for an overhead camper and a horse trailer. I have kept my old ford truck that I planned on selling but can't because my current one has been a complete failure so far.
I am a trained auto tech and the service department has done everything to make me loose faith in them.
I wish you the best of luck.

That so sucks.
Look into the lemon laws for your state, call BBB and start the claim.
If it was me I would make them build me a new truck. If it didn't get fixed before I doubt it will.

They would love to buy it back its worth a lot more than I paid for it. Also i have a lot of accessories that I need on the truck. It takes me 6 months to get a truck set up for my needs and its almost there I just need it fixed.

I just noticed my truck making the same noise as the first video. My truck is a 21 f350 7.3 xlt ccsb, built this past parch. I have almost 2000 miles on it and tow 7000lb twice a week. Ive noticed no issue shifting and everything seems to be working fine so far. I have the premium ESP plan just for these instances.

My last truck was 2012 f250 that I had since new. 3 years ago, the torque converted take out the tranny at 50,000 miles. Between the tranny issue, the manifold crack and the all the electronic stuff in these new trucks, swayed me to get the ESP.

Mine has gotten a bit worse.
What did you do with yours? Did they fix it?

Is this isolated to the 2020’s?

Following. My 2020 with 7.3L makes a knocking sound sometimes when warm and in park. I wanted to bring it in, but figured they would give me the "it's normal" or "Can not duplicate".

I also have what sounds like a sqeaking pulley for the first 20 seconds or so at cold start up, then instantly goes away. As If there is a part that doesn't have oil, then quiets down once the oil flows.

Same noise in park on mine. It goes away in drive. Dealer service just shrugged and said 10 speeds make lots of weird noises. Tranny seems to work fine which is all they care about. Have seen a few people complain about the noise but never any resolution. Sometimes mine is not noticeable but other times its very obvious, just dont want any long term issues from it.
