Got my rear brakes swapped to disk and fully installed the fuel tank along with the in tank fuel pump,in-line filter and pressure and return lines. I used Earls Ultrapro PTFE braided hose. It was sooooo much easier to put the ends on than the regular -an I had done in the past! Plus I will never have to change out again.
I used the Lugnut 4X4 kit. I did get my own custom made SS lines tho. I opted to forgo the park brake after hearing they never work very well. Seemed like a lot of extra money and time to source the right cables to make it all work only to have it not work. I have owned the truck 25 years and in that time the park brake worked maybe a handful of times. I now have a C6 in it and have no worries of needing the park brake. I also replaced the bearings while I was in there. The old ones looked good so it was more of a peace of mind thing since I had them on hand just in case.
I ended up dropping the tank half an inch at the front using ss spacers between the frame and the welded tank brackets in order to get a better angle on the filler neck. A curved tank outlet to horizontal would be the best. Had to make a filler neck ( just posted about that) because the Aero one was way off for my ‘76 Highboy. Without the spacer drop my bed crossmember would hit the tank before it sat down on the frame rails too. Your project looks eerily familiar. Nice work.

Reason: Correction
Nice work I have some questions.
1) Was the original equipment on your 76' highboy a C-6 tranny and did it come with a support brace between the back of the Np205 divorced transfer case and the frame?
2) Is the pic of your rig I posted back a factory brace?
3) could you please post some more pics of said brace specifically where it is mounted at both ends?
Thanks ahead of time and keep up the good work.
