messing with rear leafs to lower

messing with rear leafs to lower

1999 f250 regular cab 5.4 , 2x4
i slammed the front...with the djm dream beam, and lowering rear hanger, shackles....also new leaf sets..... now it is 2 inches higher in the rear... if i was to run only the top 2 leafs my towing capacity is shot? plus wheel hop? will traction bars fix that alone or will rear bags be better? im looking for old collapsed leafs that will level it out but those are hard to find, and when i do find them the sellers think they are gold and want over 200 for them.. i think the front is like 32 inches from the ground to wheel well top.. and rear is 35. anyone know how to fix this ?

I take it you've already removed the rear blocks, right?

Removing leafs will reduce your spring rate, which then translates to issues with load and towing.

Sounds like you may need to just get some custom leaf springs made by a local shop.

if a fella ran a mono leaf , would traction bars or air bag be better to retain tow capacity or both?

The best way to retain towing capacity is to leave the truck completely stock. Slamming a work truck doesn't make sense to me. To each their own.

i have an expedition and an 05 f350 6.0 , this lowered truck is just an around town beater..possibly light towing.
