Exclamation engine problems

what are the signs of a dieing engine because i have moisture around the head gasket and the oil has a white foam to it and there are metal shavings in it and it has a tosted almond smell to it and i was going to take it to the dealer to get the oil changed but this is what i noticed its been about 4000 miles since the last oil change

Sounds like a leaky head gasket, warped head from running too hot will do that...time for a new engine.

Heads usually don't go bad by themselves, bad gaskets...nah, if the engine was running before, the temp gage might not had detected the increase in temp, thus it didn't show because of oil or loose connections...if the engine head gasket didn't over heat, there is one other possiblity...a cylinder wall crack, over time the crack gets bigger till you realize you're making shush in the engine. I doubt that condensation would let that much mositure in to make your oil milky white, and the other description about the metal shaving could be a cracked cylinder wall...time for a new engine...

Do a compression test and see if they're all fairly close.

From what I just read I would have to go with the head gasket or cracked head idea....I thing that your garage is feeding you a line.....

Unless you are running a briggs and stratton 3 horse engine it is pretty hard to get enough condensation in the oil to make a milkshake... the fact that it is milky suggests that it is antifreze...not water......

I hope that I am wrong,,,,good luck

My 85 shows a little foam at the bootom of the dipstick when the oil gets low but no shavings and mine's compresson is real good. But when you chnge the oil no water in the drain pan. So i just drive till you kill it compltely.

Give it a few more miles and change your oil again. That will inform you on whether your garage was feeding you a line or not...
