Inner cv joint leak at diff.
My 87 f250, I noticed has a click when turning right in reverse , looked under the truck and noticed grease on the cv axle going into the front diff, passenger side. The cv boot looked ok, seems to be coming from where the cv axle meets the front diff. I'm assuming the leak is coming from the axle seal in the diff and need to be replaced? There is also play from side to side on the cv axle, and a little play up and down, how much is normal? Would a bad seal be caused by the amount of play or can a bad joint cause the seal to fail?
