For gawd sake if you want to save your sanity and bank account, DO NOT buy one of those POS vans. We have a bunch of them in our fleet and we can't keep them on the road, they're breaking down at higher rates than 30+ year old GM trucks we also have in the fleet with some nearing half a million miles on the clock.
Everything from drivetrain to brakes to the climate control just destroying itself, control ***** literally flying off the dash, I'm told they have over 500 units sitting on a dock that can't be shipped because the transmissions have issues.
Brand new 2020 ym vehicles! Good grief. Growing up the name Mercedes always exuded quality, luxury, dependability. Well that ain't the case with these POS creations, they're pure JUNK!
Sorry you're having issues with your fleet---when it reaches a certain level it not only affects the bottom line but small degrees of vehicle anxiety makes work that much MORE work.
I love Mercedes cars too, never really had any experience with their trucks---well not if you exclude Freightliner's that is! (I work on big trucks exclusively, Mercedes owns and manufacturers the Freightliner brand along with the Western Star too. )
Seems quite a few manufacturers are rushing smaller vans onto the road, perhaps looking to tap into the Ford Transit Connect market segment? Mercedes had issues with the first few years of their Sprinter sold here in the USA. Even though they're "everywhere" in Europe necessary DOT-required modifications made them problematic or maybe Mercedes just dropped the ball?
I do wonder if Mercedes is looking to somewhat bridge the gap Ford created when they discontinued the E-Series?
Not sure Ford's Transit Connect's are all that great but I'd opt for one of those just now as they have a few years development and ironing out early problem they may have had. People using them in their fleets seem to like them---FWIW.
USPS has or is buying a total of 30,000 Metris vans mainly for the rural carriers and some city routes. The vehicle is rarely spoken fondly about as it isn't a good postal supplement or replacement but they do love the radio and AC which the current LLV fleet is lacking.

The Metris is the YUGO of today. Take a look at how the front K member is attached to the structure. Not sure how this passed crash testing. This extends deeper and goes into their other products. There is nobody I know that works on heavy equipment and thinks highly of the OTR Mercedes diesel engines.
