Well I got going cleaning off the under-bed of the truck. My plan is scape off the lose undercoating and deal with the pinch weld rust the best I can. The plan then is paint with red primmer and put back the undercoating that is missing--- well some/most of it. I am just trying to put it back the way it was when new.
One of the brackets underneath is missing; do any of the esoteric parts places offer those braces? It is the center one I
tried to show it in the photos
What's missing? There are only 4 cross supports total under the bed. Front and rear sill and two middle ones - one in front and one behind the wheelwell openings. We can discuss today when you come to pick up the hood.
OK, after talking in person I understand. I don't see those braces in the drawing but they were likely part of the quarter panel assembly originally as were those other braces. Mine are likely missing from the truck - the one I showed you was probably one of them. I think it was on the passengers side stuffed under the seat when I got the truck.
In the drawing if you look at 27701 it is 5 arrows pointing to various portions that make up the assembly. So no separate part numbers for the braces.

You can see 27814 in the opening on the tool compartment - that's the metal brace they added for the tool compartment that I showed you.
If you continue looking you might think 28067 is a brace but it's a rubber flap they fastened to the bottom side to keep crud kicked up by the tire from getting to the top of the tool compartment. Those looked like this.

Thanks for doing the research Chad even better thanks for the hood. Yes they must brackets that keep the quarter panel stable, like you mentioned; the second picture shows 3 brackets down along the quarter panel at about a 60 degree angle to the bed and quarter panel. The middle one is kinda hidden, like the remnants of the one you showed me.
I think 4W might be different. I will try and remake one out of some flat stock. I did make one that is kinda close by using some folded up tinfoil for a template and then bent it and turned to get the very odd shape. However, a bent steel rod would probably be easier and stronger. The one on your white truck is probably stock for a 4W.
I need to come up with something because mine was knocked off my truck after a side swipe which left the quarter panel tipped in a little at the wheel arch.
Thanks Steve
